Edit: I'm going in to start work Monday morning. YES. YESYESYESYESYSEYESYESYESYEYES. I am so freaking happy right now!
---
Tomorrow I'm going to the kennel to tell the woman that I'll be ready to start volunteering as soon as she wants me. I think I may just offer my time every other day since I'm not getting paid. Hopefully she accepts that --- not that she can really
not since I'm basically doing her a favor. xD; The ridiculously paranoid part of me is worried about one thing, though, and I've been worrying about it since the day two months ago when I went to see if I'd be allowed to volunteer. That day, she had me write down my name and phone number so that, if she suddenly decided she wanted to hire me, she'd be able to call. Well, I was nervous beyond comprehension, and I wasn't really paying attention to what I was doing. When I get
that nervous, sometimes I just... blank a bit. And now I've just been worrying that I'll get there tomorrow and she'll say, "I tried to call you, but I think this is the wrong number," and sure enough it will be... and I'll seem like an incompetent fool. Wishful thinking has led me to hope that if I do a well enough job this summer, she'll want to hire me next year. Who really wants to hire someone who can't even write down his or her own number correctly, though?
BUT. NEED TO THINK POSITIVE. DOGS. CATS. FUN.
Oh, quick question, though: does anyone know how to go about asking her to clock the hours I work? I need the proof and her signature for when I put the work on my college applications later. I just... don't really know how to bring it up. Not that it's a difficult subject to breach, obviously, but I'm just incapable of proper conversation, apparently. She brought it up for me. Yay!
...on an entirely different note, I got a new computer desk today! There's this one I'd been wanting at Staples, but it was $175 and no one was really willing to spend the money on it at the time. Today, though, my dad stopped at a garage sale and saw exactly the same desk I wanted in perfect condition for only $65. I am just.... mmm. The desk I had was ancient and falling apart. This one is just fantastic. I actually have room to put my tablet
in front of me. The only thing I'm still trying to get used to is the keyboard being much lower than before. It's taking longer to type than usual. Pfft. STILL. Really cool!

You just have to stay on top of it, and remember these two things..
Expect the best and prepare for the worse,
Don't let your whole life be about the worst thing you ever did
There's a long road out there.. I'm afraid because I can't see where it goes, but when it's my time I'll walk.

Hmm. That's no good. Did you sign all the checks before you put 'em in that envelope (or whatever)?
Hey, you may not see a straight path right now, but when you do get going, I know you'll succeed, Drac. ^_^

COOL I would like to get a job at a kennel too; I am thinking about going to grooming school and get my license then hopefully if I like it; I was going to work as a groomer at a kennel or shop. I will then plan to open my own Grooming and kennel shop either in my home or outside it.
ANyways good luck!

Oh, really!? That would be SUCH a fun career, especially if you had your own groomers and kennel! Good luck, if you do go through with it!
...and thank you for the well-wishes!

Well the checks are filled out, just not cashed
Hey, never beat on yourself for being nevious or afraid. My knees always shake when I present communion meditation, but everyone says I was fine. They say it with honest excitement.. Sometimes we're the ones dragging us down.

'Lo, EUREKA,' I yelled into the cat, 'Thou art truly laborious and divergent. My nose bleeds for your impending encounter with the front fender of a Mercedes Benz.'
The first thing I have to do is be taught how to use all the special equipment to groom the dogs...
